Initially working from previous location, negotiated and developed with a single source tenderer the main civil works contract bill of quantities. After successfully finalising the contract price developed and agreed a commercial strategy with the contractor to facilitate the development of a timely measure and value account and set up procedures through a steering committee to develop and agree any commercially contentious items. Managed and overviewed the development of the main civil account (£20m), reporting to management on budget requirements and highlighting through a non-conformance procedure any internal system cost transfers. Later involved in assuring that documentation was in place in order to negate spurious claims and for any claim defence necessary. Preparation and evaluation of owner variation orders associated with additional civil requirements. Overviewed contractual response to notification of notice of delays associated with main mechanical erection contract (£8m).
